Cascade: A Novel (River of Time)
There just really wasn't much else that needed saying after the first third when then are reunited with their mom,so this story could have very easily been finished in the first book. There is no way I will read any more. Amazing, addictive book! Still addictively good. I'm excited for the next book and appreciate that the characters are not flat and the challenges of the time in history is not romanticized.
Great series. Some parts may seem unbelievable but it's still a great read.

I highly recommend reading it. Gabi knows she's left her heart in the fourteenth century, and she persuades Lia to help her return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, months have passed, and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence - while their enemies will go to great lengths to see them dead. Even in the midst of the battles, Gabi's heart is increasingly drawn to Marcello, just as Lia's is to Luca.
In medieval Italy, the sisters discover things inside themselves that they couldn't seem to find in the present - connection with their mom, courage within, and the understanding that a life well lived often means encountering sacrifice. But in a world long past, many things still keep Gabi from giving Marcello her heart forever Skip to main navigation Skip to main navigation Skip to search Skip to search Skip to content.

I hate it for the same reason because there is such a long time between them it seems. They are good enough that when I got each of these books my mother took them from my desk and read them first, loaned them to her best friend and then let me have them to read.
My mother is 79 years old.

She is as anxious about the books as I am. It is her opinion that women of all ages should read this book. She said if a mother and daughter read it they have something to discuss. She could understand the mother wanting to protect her children and at the same time wanting them to be happy.
